EGO FIX were a Japanese grindcore band which formed in Osaka Japan originally under the name CHAPEL OF GHOUL. The band was influenced by 80s UK hardcore, Earache Records and Japanese hardcore and grindcore. In particular, . and early Napalm Death had a great influence on the band. The COG formed in early 1995 and rehearsed many times since then. In November 1995, the COG performed their first show in Maizuru City, Kyoto Japan. After a few shows, the COG changed the band name to EGO FIX in late 1995. EGO FIX's first release was a 9-track demo tape called “Eternal Karma“, which was released in '96. After its release, the band continued to perform mainly in Osaka and Kyoto and also participated in several compilation tapes and EPs. In March 1997 after discussions with members, two members have left the band. The remaining members tried to keep the band alive, but it didn't work. Eventually, the band put an end to about two years of activity in April 1997. The last gig was at Juso Fanda
