Vigil held in front of Russian embassy in Berlin after death of Russian opposition leader Navalny. The wife of Alexei Navalny has said that if Russian reports of his death are accurate, President Putin will “bear responsibility” for what he has done. Yulia Navalnaya spoke after the Federal Penitentiary Service in Yamalo-Nenets said Navalny, 47, “felt unwell” after a walk on Friday and that an ambulance was called but he could not be resuscitated. Navalny was arrested in January 2021 after returning to Moscow from Berlin, where he had spent months recovering from a near-fatal poisoning that he said was ordered by Putin.
