Racing At Auteuil Paris (1921)

Fashionable crowd attending opening day at Auteuil races near Paris; France; 1921. Various shots of crowd strolling in park - some wide open spaces; some wooded; with a couple of big rustic buildings like cottages or lodges; probably cafes. But the best part is a few shots from the waist up of les femmes elegantes. The first of these stylish women shown has a loose blouse or dress with sharp V neckline and full sleeves; in striking fabric - a large floral and geometric print; also a wide-brimmed dark hat with her long brown hair hanging straight - an unusual look in the 20s but tres chic. The 2nd has a similar hat and a coat with big puffy bits of fake (?) white fur at the cuffs and a scarf made of the same furry stuff. The last woman shown is in a wool suit; the long jacket has strips of fur on the back half of the sleeves; over the hips and around the sides and back of the big stand up collar; she wears a rakish 3-corner hat like a pirate.
