Attack of the Mosquito Swarms | First Time Ever Retreat!

Epic fail! Do not try to hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in the White Pass area of Washington in the month of July, the mosquitos will eat you alive and carry away your remains!!!! They were biting through cotton gloves and our shirts, some even crawled up our sleeves. I had itching for 4 days, it was horrible. This outing was the second week of July 2024, all we could do was 5 miles round trip and 700 feet of elevation gain before retreating back down to the parking lot. We will be back this fall when conditions are better :)
