#ASMR #discoelysium Before I start my ‘essay’, a quick warning that the subject matter of this video may be triggering for some viewers. It includes fleeting, but frank, observations on suicide, drug abuse, and addiction in general, as well as frequent coarse language. If you’re okay with that, I hope you enjoy the video! So, I only started and finished playing Disco Elysium over the festive holiday in 2021, but it has stayed with me ever since. Part of me wished I played it sooner, but, then again, I think I played it right when I ‘needed’ to. From its ridiculous but believable characters to its understated yet utterly magical ending, it was one of the best written games I think I’ve ever played. And so naturally, my own arrogance demanded that I create an ASMR homage to it… And this is what ya get. It’s essentially an ASMR detective roleplay where I utterly ravage my vocal cords trying to replicate some of the amazing voice acting in the game itself. Wherever possible, I’ve kept it spoiler free (buzzing out the character’s name, etc.), and to further distance it from the game’s plot, I’ve created my own narrative and a slightly different stats system. But, if you can duke it out to the end, hopefully it all makes sense. Of course, and unavoidably, the video touches upon the topic of addiction and trauma. I’ve come to realise – right or wrong – that addiction is fundamentally, if not exclusively, linked to trauma. And so – as poor a facsimile of the game that my video is – if you are affected by any of the topics or issues raised, I urge you to seek support wherever possible. And please always be kind to yourself and know that you deserve to be happy. Because you really really do. Anyway, my rambling aside, I hope that you enjoy this video, as silly as it is. -------------- ❤️ - If you enjoy the video, please like and subscribe! 🎬 - Get early access and BTS news by supporting me on 🎵 - Like the original music in my videos? It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses – even just for a bit. 📽 What is FPC? 🎞 FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times. Disclaimer: This video is intended for relaxation. Any views, opinions, or advice expressed is purely for the purpose of entertainment, and to induce tingles through ASMR. These videos are not a substitute for traditional medicine, therapy, or any other professional medium, and should not be treated as such! Take all the advice with a pinch of salt, and certainly don’t take it to heart. That being said, please enjoy them, benefit from them, and hopefully get those warm, tingly feelings. Oh, and it’s not for kids.
