“The terror in the kid’s eyes when you hear a bomb nearby is not something you’ll ever see in movies or TV.” For the last three weeks, emergency physician Mohammad Subeh has been tending to the critically injured and traumatised in southern Gaza, where constant Israeli bombardment and air strikes have terrorised the population. Many of Dr Subeh’s patients are children, one of whom was as young as seven weeks old. Nearly all of Gaza’s 1.2 million children are in need of mental health support, according to United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. . . .
