Tata San Juan (Venerable Saint John) is a song by Inti Illimani, the Chilean group, dedicated to the Sikura dance, performed on November 24th before the image of San Juan in the town of Cariquima in Chile. For well over 30 years, Inti-Illimani (the name translates as “Sun God“) has held a beacon for Chilean music, both the traditional folk styles and the more contemporary nueva cancion.
