David Garrett ~German-American Violinist-World superstar, winner of 24 gold and 16 platinum awards, champion of the Guinness Book of Records. ~He's the long-haired violin virtuoso, “Devil’s Violinist” of our age,an international superstar who blurs the lines between Mozart and Metallica. David received his first Stradivarius at the age of 11, thanks to the generosity of German president at the time Richard von Weizsäcker. From an early age it was clear that Garrett was going to be something special. He began learning the violin at age four and enrolled in the Lübeck Conservatoire at age 7. was 13, Garrett had recorded two full-length CDs of violin music and was regular fixture on TV across Europe. The youngest soloist ever to sign an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. İs now best known as a record-breaking pop and crossover artist. ~His first proper album from 2007, Free, recording set out his stall as a crossover artist, tackling repertoire as diverse as Paganini's Caprice No. 24 to Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters'. ~In 2010, David let his fondness for rock and crossover get the better of him when he recorded a whole album of rock cover versions. Artists given the Garrett treatment included Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith and Metallica. Together with his band, he gives concerts that include classical sonatas, arrangements and compositions, as well as rock songs and movie themes. Highlights of his more recent career have included an appearance at the 2011 Royal Variety Performance, playing his cover of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', and the lead role in the 2013 movie The Devil's Violinist, as the 19th-century violinist Niccolo Paganini. The same year he released his album Garrett vs Paganini. ~For a while at least, David Garrett was the world record holder for the fastest performance of Rimsky-Korsavkov's 'Flight Of The Bumblebee'. ~His 2015 album Explosive includes the original compositions Innovation, Furious, Explosive, Unlimited Symphony, Serenity, Baroque fantasy, and Melancholia.
