Actually, dog hair shares a similar chemical composition to corrella tortintcia (which is a lichen that turns red in response to acidic solutions). Since shampoos typically have a pH level between 3.5 and 9, it is possible that the product is slightly acidic, and is therefore causing the dog's coat to have a pink hue. What I would query with Tesco, however, is why this “sensitive“ shampoo does not seem to have a pH of around 7?
