Today’s Watercolor is quite challenging. I use a complex motif to illustrate challenges and solutions in creating depth in painting. I use a “Painters Perspective” which employs one point perspective. I also use repeated shapes that diminish Into the distance. The perspective is established in the drawing by estimation. Rulers and other aids defeat the goal of an expressive painting. I describe the process I use to achieve a believable perspective based on a presumed horizon line and a vanishing point. More
