Traveling like a local in Turkey is quite the adventure. Having landed in Trabzon the night before, I make my way to the dreamy little village of Uzungol, nestled in the mountainous countryside of northeastern Turkey. Taking a bus from Trabzon to Uzungol, the journey takes about 2 hours, as the bus from Trabzon to Uzungol hugs the Black Sea coastline for about half the journey, then winds through the twisting roads of the Turkish countryside.
