The Thing, Edvard's Arm Thing and Jonas' Face, Sculpture Phase

For The Thing 2011 we looked for ways to hearken back to Bottin and Carpenter's work from '82. The script described Edvard's Arm Thing as “latching on“ to Jonas' face. Seeking to avoid the Facehugger comparison, we went with a subcutaneous attachment, along with signature Thing flesh-melding. This video shows the sculpture phase, as finished off by ADI's Steve Koch.
