Dog adopted two tiny lion cubs and raised them as her own puppies

German shepherd named Sandra replaced the mother of two lion cubs born at the zoo. For some reason, the mother of the lion cubs decided to abandon her children. She abused the babies, biting them and refusing to feed them. The lion cubs were exhausted and scared. This sometimes happens in the wild, in which case little lion cubs have little chance of survival. At first, zoo staff fed the cubs from a bottle, but then decided to take them away from their mother and give them to the eight-year-old German shepherd Sandra, who at that time was nursing her puppy.
