At least four people have died, 10 are missing and 127million have been placed on alert after ‘once in a century’ flooding hit southern China. Guangdong province, near Hong Kong, was pelted with 61cm (24ins) of rain in a little over a week - the highest since records began in 1959. The downpours caused rivers to turn into torrents and burst their banks, and flash flooding. In some places, floodwaters have risen over 10ft. Flood alerts have been issued across the province including in the mega-city of Shenzhen. 28,500 people have been moved to shelters while another 112,000 have been evacuated. #china #floods #rain Daily Mail Homepage: Daily Mail Facebook: Daily Mail IG: Daily Mail Snap: Daily Mail Twitter: Daily Mail Pinterest: China floods: Deadly ’once in a century
