Tucked away in the forests of Pennsylvania, there is a rowdy chasm of moving water now known as Scorch and Destroy. Team paddler Triston Choate grew up less than three miles from the drop, and found it by simply wandering through the woods behind his house as a youth. When he first saw it, the whole thing was choked with wood, and completely un-runnable. Through the strange hands of fate, his career is in logging, and the land owners hired our man to clean out the river on their property. After making friends and convincing them he'd be safe, they offered him the chance to run this drop on Christmas morning 2020. So stoked to share this rad footage, and love to hear the stories behind moments like this. Even while people travel to the corners of the earth to find first descents, sometimes you just need to have the right skills and know where to look!
