It's a Miracle this Porcelain Vase Survived

I really didn’t think this vase would make it after these two failures, both a result of not attaching it down properly twice, my fault. I finally thoroughly slipped the bottom of the piece to weld it down firmly against the metal wheel head. The porcelain sticks just as well as the stoneware does when using this technique, but I feel as if I need to be a little more careful. Once the outer walls and rim have been refined and thinned, I slice the vessel off the wheel, flip it over onto it’s delicate rim, and then turn the underside, an altogether easier process as the pot is held in place with three lumps of soft porcelain pushed around the rim. #porcelain #practicemakesperfect #fail #blooperreel #oddlysatisfying #howitsmade #craft #pottery ___
