The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) received the first batch of upgraded Mikoyan MiG-31BM supersonic interceptors. This announcement was made on July 15 by United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and marked the first delivery of the MiG-31BM upgraded model for 2024. The company did not specify what improvements were made to the MiG-31 BM and how many aircraft were delivered to VKS. The MiG-31 comes in two configurations, namely the MiG-31K which can carry Dagger ( Kinzal ) hypersonic missiles and the MiG-31BM which is armed with R-37M air-to-air missiles with a range of 300 km. The MiG-31BM is the most advanced variant of all MiG-31 models. The aircraft is designed to intercept and destroy air targets at high speeds and altitudes.
