Rishi Sunak has avoided a rebellion within the Conservative party and won a successful vote in parliament for the Rwanda policy. The plan aims to send people who arrive in the UK in small boats to Rwanda by plane, where they could claim asylum It was initially stalled by the Supreme Court after it ruled it unlawful, but a vote that passed by 313 to 269 keeps the Prime Minister's flagship idea alive.
