This week I’m going to show you how to make falernum at home. An essential and delicious Barbados syrup for tiki cocktails that will elevate any drink it's in. Falernum is a must have when it comes to tiki drinks. Just a half ounce of this stuff and your drinks go from meh to marvelous. There isn’t much variety to choose from at the liquor store, and the one that’s widely available leaves much to be desired. Making your falernum at home is the optimal choice because you can vouch for the quality of ingredients and can customize it to your preferences. For example, I am using key limes in my variation to compliment my vegan key lime pie milk punch. All you need to make your own is an overproof spirit - typically rum, ginger, almond, lime, sugar and cloves. The recipe I’m making in this video will yield 6 ounces. 3 oz Wray and Nephew overproof white rum Zest and juice of 10 key limes 2 tablespoons of fresh grated ginger 8 cloves 1/4
