Album: Country Sounds Of The Bobby Hankins Show Written By: J.P. Richardson Released: 1967 From The Album Notes: “It's a pleasure to present the first album featuring “The Bobby Hankins Show“... A pleasure for me to have the chance to present a few remarks concerning Bobby... and a listening pleasure for his many present fans and those that are soon destined to become fans after listening to this album... I was really happy to see Bobby's single releases of “White Lightning“ and “Root Beer“ included in the Album, along with some songs that Bobby has written with the help of his fine steel man Lefty Rite (Lefty Schrage), who incidently is heard playing lead guitar on some of the songs, and 12 string guitar on their own song “Mississippi Sam“. I know you'll enjoy the songs of Miss Barbara Jean, such as an original “Everything's All Right“ and her own rendition of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin“ plus the duet work with Bobby on “Lonesome Hours“ and “Baby Ain't That Fine“... Mr. Keith Thompson plays piano for Bobby on their shows, and has a fine voice as you'll hear on “You're The Only World I Know“ and his harmony singing with Bobby on the country standard “Wild Side Of Life“ and an original by Bobby and Lefty “I Go To Pieces One Day At A Time“... One of the most amazing persons on this album is the drummer, Bobby's 12-year old daughter, “Little Dix“ (Dixie Hankins). Having joined the band in July of 1966, this young lady has a great future in country music, having appeared with several Grand Ole Opry Shows... The song “You've Hurt Me For The Last Time“ was written by his secretary who happens to be Little Dix's Mom... A special mention should go to three friends of Bobby for their excellent efforts on the album... Buddy Nite (Buddy Cornwell) for lead guitar work, Bobby Brown for the great job on piano, and Jon Rechkemmer for the bass part in the voices... All in all its your assurance of good listening everytime you drop the needle in the first groove of Bobby Hankins first album... Watching the rise to popularity by Bobby Hankins has been a pleasure for me and I'm sure this is just another step to stardom for him... Good listening to you, and after you've listened you'll know why “The Bobby Hankins Show“ is a favorite of so many country music fans... Dale Wood, Manager, Radio Station KOEL in Oelwein, Iowa“
