After fucking 2 years of editor’s blocks and changes, you finally getting this. The Question is such an underrated character that he could add something more modern street level to the DC world. I also have a love for black and white noir, so I really wanted to make this, and tried my best to mirror the comics. If Hugh Laurie was 20 years younger, the idea would work better. There are certain other actors that I wanted to pick, but much of it was on footage and dialogue needed for the story. The plot shown in this trailer follows the Steve Ditko run of the character and the first issue of the Dennis O’Neil run. Set in present day, a scientist by the name of Arby Twain (Benicio del Toro) steals a large quantity of pseudoderm, a chemical bandage that him and his colleague Aristotle Rodor (Ralph Fiennes) had been working on. This material was found to be toxic under certain circumstances, however Twain was under financial strain, and found ways to mass produce and sell the pseudoderm to third world countries and the black market. Rodor enlists the help of a former student, investigative journalist Vic Sage (Hugh Laurie), who also knew the amount of deaths and harm it had and would cause. Vic Sage volunteers to continue the investigation, and hides his identity via a proper pseudoderm mask and gas given by Rodor. From this day forward, he would be two men: Vic Sage and the Question. With the help of his journalist colleague, Myra Connelly (Alana de la Garza), The Question will seek to take down the underground drug ring, Twain, and tyranny of Hub City. What can one man do? If this show had a second season, I’d imagine it’d be taking down the mayor, who is Myra’s husband, and the corrupt enterprise of Hub City. I eluded to a view into Sage's life in the orphanage, also included Renee Montoya in this show since it would be cool to have her help out and hint at her eventually taking over the mantle of The Question.
