Scales vs Chord tones. In this jazz guitar lesson I teach you the right way to improvise with chord tones with just a little bit of music theory. There can be a bit of controversy here. Some say SCALES are best for how to improvise jazz. Others say focusing in on CHORD TONES the best method to improvise jazz. The truth is all the jazz masters that came before us didn't think scales very often. It was a strategic way of placing chord tones within the measure and linking them together with approach notes, enclosures and chromaticism, to add color, spice, and excitement to their jazz lines. In other words, it's learning how to use the “wrong notes“ correctly. I like to think of it as 80-85% notes of the chords and the rest scales. ✅✅ GET THE FULL PDF LESSON HERE ▶︎ ❤️ BECOME A MEMBER TO ACCESS ALL PDF LESSONS ❤️ YOU CAN HAVE
