There are plenty of zombie games out there and one of the most famous is the Left 4 Dead series. Unsurprinsingly the success of that franchise resulted in several copycats of which most are pretty mediocre. World War Z on the other hand is the game that takes inspiration from Left 4 Dead and adds enough of it's own flavor to make it stand on it's own two feet. The most impressive thing about this game is the scale. Not only due to the insane amount of zombies you get to face, but also the scale of the world and the conflict. Often in the distance you can see helicopters and planes fly over and the world feels much more lived in and dynamic than in something like Left 4 Dead. You feel like you are part of a bigger conflict and that feels very epic. There are a lot of weapons to choose from and the character progression also adds incentive to keep on playing.
