The most idiotic irony of this whole affair is that the only region of Russia where the Niqab is banned is in fact Chechnya (let’s hope it changes soon). But it makes sense. The Niqab was never used in Chechnya, and only started to arrive in the late 90s with the arrival of radical interpretations of Islam.
