Bailu, the fifteenth solar term in the twenty-four solar terms, is the third solar term in autumn, marking the end of the Shen month and the beginning of the You month in the traditional Chinese calendar. It signifies the sun’s celestial longitude reaching 165 degrees, falling around September 7-9 in the Gregorian calendar. ’Bailu’ reflects the increasing coldness in nature. As cold air gains strength, daytime remains warm with sunlight, but temperatures drop quickly in the evening, leading to a gradual increase in the temperature difference between day and night.
