Sultans of Swing, if it were played by Elvis So, since the last song I did with Stijn Bloemhof (Hotel California in the style of Johnny Cash) was pretty well received, we decided to go for another little collaboration. We transposed the song to Am, to fit the vocals better. Added some drum breaks here and there and some backing vocals. Had to hold back a little on the guitar playing, since the rock and rolls licks of those times weren't as flashy yet as Mark Knopfler's in 1978. But still, plenty of pentatonic licks and double stops to go around. Played my ES-335 for this one, with a slapback delay and a touch of reverb.
