I had been writing this song for a couple of months, but finished the missing pieces while waiting for a tow truck to pick up my car. I got into a bad car accident two nights before, and this was my final farewell to my sweet little old car that drove me to all my shows and festivities for the past 7 years. I played and wrote so many songs in it. I've used that center piece as an actual desk for writing, playing chess with my accordion player, eating, tea time, reading. I'm gonna miss this car :) Timecodes 0:00 - intro 0:14 - tiny desk 0:29 - music starts LYRICS: What is love? And how do you get it? What is time? And how do you save it From slipping through your fingers Like a wasted chance I know I deserved more than just a happenstance What's a friend If everyone's talking? So just pretend You're somebody calling To wake the sleeping memory In the locket of your heart I know I should have done this from the very start But maybe I'm good enough to call And maybe I didn't have to fall so hard Maybe if I loved myself at all You were mine That's what everyone's saying But I'm in line Again and we're playing If you could only know the things I've already been through Maybe then it wouldn't hurt so much to get loved by you But maybe I was good enough to call And maybe I didn't have to fall so hard Maybe if I loved myself at all
