Ukrainian authorities appealed to the owner of Telegram, Pavel Durov, with a call to “restrict the channels disseminating Russian disinformation,” but Durov ignored these requests. This was stated by the head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn. Durov was also offered to “work with the Ukrainian government to reduce the penetration of Russian propaganda into the Ukraine.” This proposal was also ignored.
