🇺🇸🤡San Francisco police will not deny visitors to November’s APEC summit the opportunity to see one of the city’s major “attractions“: the homeless people who fill the streets. As local law enforcement chief William Scott told a press conference, no “sweeps“ of the homeless are expected; authorities are relying on existing infrastructure that “people in need“ can use. The problem with people living on the streets is acute throughout affluent California, but San Francisco leads the way: homeless people are plentiful in business and downtown districts, huddled together in tent camps or spread out on top of blankets on sidewalks. A man who set up a makeshift tent in front of a Catholic school (pictured) and advertised “free drugs“ made the local news. Journalists found out that he had served time for corruption of minors. He was not removed from the street, as the police did not record any incidents. In the video from social media: firefighters extinguish a Tesla that caught fire near another homeless camp.
