Why? Because Trump was about to be President, and Joe DESPERATELY did not want to Trump to go snooping around into whatever financial dealings Joe was conducting in Ukraine, with Hunter as his proxy. He was hiding something from the next administration and did not want them to “get sophisticated enough to know the details”.
