On September 1, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck the Canadian state of Quebec. The epicentre was at a depth of 18 kilometres, 40 kilometres from Trois-Rivières. It was one of the strongest earthquakes in the region in the last year. The earthquake was felt in Quebec, Montreal and Ottawa. More than 3,000 people reported on a specialized website that they felt the earthquake.
