The Burmese Empire (Burman Kingdom) is a state in Southeast Asia that existed in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was formed in 1753 as a result of the collapse of the Mon state of the Revived Hanthawaddy and the seizure of power by King Alaunphaya. From 1753 to 1759, Alaunphaya united the scattered Burmese lands under his rule through conquest, becoming the ancestor of the Konbaung dynasty. The anthem of the Burmese Empire was the song “စံရာတောင်ကျွန်းလုံးသူ့“ (“The Whole Southern island belongs to Him“).
