New Addington, Surrey. A neat new house appears on the screen. Camera cuts to show a policeman in a nice new kitchen. High angle C/U shot of a stove with a pot and a kettle on. Policeman leaves the kitchen and enters an office. He sits at his desk and starts writing something. This is - voiceover tells the audience - a new, modern, one-man police office opened in New Addington, Surrey. One-man police stations are fairly common in the country districts but it is new to the Metropolitan police, audience is told. The station has a kitchen, doghouse, office and a small van. A man comes bringing Alsatian on an improvised lead. He opens a gate and enters police yard with the doghouse in the middle. The policeman comes and chains the dog to the doghouse. The two men then go to the desk where the policeman writes a report. It seems that the man has found the dog and brought it to the policeman. Police officer goes back to his desk. A telephone rings. He answers the phone and starts getting ready to leav
