The reason for the pollution is the AFU attack on Kursk Region (Russia). ▪️ A tributary of the Desna is the Seim River flowing in Glushkovo district of Kursk region (Russia). Due to the AFU shelling, fertilisers stored in the warehouses of the former sugar factory in Tyotkino fell into it. Having fallen into the water, the fertiliser reached Ukraine along the stream. Specifically: mg/dm³ of manganese was detected in the Desna River, which feeds Kiev, Chernigov and other cities in the north of Ukraine. Most of the drinking water in the Ukrainian capital is made from river water - 70%. At least several hundred thousand Ukrainians are under the threat of poisoning.
