The best way to support my music is by downloading it from Bandcamp! Thanks so much for listening! Bandcamp: Spotify: This track pretty much exclusively utilises Archipelago temperament as tuned by 29edo, so sticks to the scale (with the exception of a few bent notes): This scale is constructed using generating steps of , or 6 steps of 29edo. Two generators down add to an approximate 3/2 perfect fifth, and three generators down add to an approximate 13/10. As such this scale is packed full of 10:13:15 chords (ultramajor) and its inverse (inframinor 7ths), which unlike typical major and minor chords can be played on the same root without much clash. The scale also suggests ratios of 17/15 and 17/10, which further reinforce the kinds of chords you can create with multiples of 5 as the root of the ratios. The scale could also be thought of as a pentatonic scale where the two minor thirds are each split into three parts, in the pattern short-long-short, where the short step is about a quarter-tone (or a fifth-tone in this case) and the long step is a whole tone just like the rest of the whole tones in the scale. In this sense, the scale can be played on quarter-tonal instruments (if you have a 24edo guitar or access to a quarter-tone piano or the like) if you'd like to round the notes listed above to the nearest quarter-tone. The scale won't sound quite the same, but will have very similar characteristics as the pattern of long and short intervals will remain unchanged. This scale is also akin to Semaphore and Madagascar as used by Sevish in a number of tracks; all flavours of very similar tunings. You'll find that the scale takes on a very different sound than typical quarter-tonal scales which usually contain many neutral intervals, as this scale contains none and opts instead for ultramajor and inframinor variants. Given the fact that this system essentially represents an extension/mutation of the pentatonic scale into more complex ratios which nonetheless form concordant xenharmonic chords, coupled with its manageable 9 note size, this system is definitely worth exploring if you're looking for a very performable and intuitive xenharmonic scale to play. Enjoy! Extra special thanks to all my supporters on Bandcamp!
