A peaceful Eritrean community meeting ended with violence on Saturday (February 17) evening, as rival groups clashed on the streets of The Hague in the Netherlands. Several cars and police vehicles were set on fire near the Opera hall center around the Fruitweg, where the meeting was taking place. Eyewitness video shared online showed bystanders watching as groups of people set fire to vehicles and threw objects at police. In a statement released online by the mayor of The Hague, an emergency order was issued and police presence was increased after pro and anti government groups clashed.
