SoCal: Cooling trend continues today before warmer temperatures move in over the weekend. Highs will be in the mid-70s to lower-80s from the beaches to downtown LA, mid-80s to around 90 in the San Fernando Valley and 80s in the San Gabriel Valley. Northern California will experience a fairly average weekend for this time of year, but a heat wave is likely to mark the first week of July. Meteorologist Tamara Berg said this heat wave is expected to begin Monday, and by the Fourth of July, parts of the region could see temperatures as high as 105 degrees. Source: Police frequency
