Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) made his first recordings for the Gramophone and Typewriter Company in Paris in 1904. These two pieces are from this session: - Valse mignonne opus 104 - Valse nonchalante opus 110 (starting at 2:30) He recorded the Valse mignonne also in a later session in 1919 (there is not much difference between the two interpretations). His playing can be described as clear, crisp, scarce use of pedal, charming and with little use of rubato.
