We’ve been considering doing “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s “Moana” for some time now, but it never felt quite right. After making a few alterations to the lyrics, we quickly became very excited about the song. The theme was obvious, and we thought it would be nice to see if we could recreate this song using solely bits from each of the fourteen Doctors from the Hartnell sequence (it’s been quite the challenge, but we think it’s really paid off!). And, in honour of the great man himself, it seemed only fitting that the majority of the song be in black and white, building towards the colourful success of the show we know today. Disclaimer: We do not own any of the material in this video. New Lyrics I’ve been staring at the stars up above me ‘long as I can remember Never really knowing why I wish I could be a better Time Lord But I come back to that “Why” word, no matter how hard I try Every turn I take, every trail I track Every path I make, every road leads back To the place I know where I cannot go, where I long to be See the stars as they shine in the sky? They call me And no-one knows how far they go If the wind in my sail to the stars stays behind me One day I’ll know If I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go I know everybody in this city, is content in this city Everything is by design I know everybody in this city has a role in this city So maybe I can roll with mine I could lead with pride; I could make us strong I’ll be satisfied if I play along But the voice inside sings a different song What is wrong with me? All the stars and the worlds I can see – spellbinding And no-one knows, how far they go And it seems like they’re calling out to me, so come find me And let me know, will I cross that line? Will I go through time? See the stars as they shine in the sky? They call me And no-one knows how far they go If the wind in my sail to the stars stays behind m, one day I’ll know How far I’ll go Facebook: Twitter:
