A huge crowd of people watch from the spectator stands. The soldiers march across the pitch to the sound of bagpipes. We then see the King and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother, Duchess of York) driving past lines of waving children at Wavertree Playground. They meet the Mayor and his wife, then watch hundreds of children in white shorts and vests in an exercise display to music. The royals are driven off in their car.
