Israeli airstrikes have completely destroyed a three-story residential building in Sarafand, southern Lebanon, causing significant damage to nearby structures, a Sputnik correspondent reports. Israeli jets targeted the residential area on Wednesday morning. Rescue teams attempted to extract survivors, but most of the women and children inside perished, with their bodies taken to a nearby hospital. Mayor Ali Khalifeh stated that the building was home to three families, all related: a father, his two sons, and their families. All 21 family members were present during the strike, resulting in 15 fatalities, primarily women and children. Khalifeh condemned the attack, emphasizing that Sarafand had been considered safe until recently and that the village now hosts around 2,000 families. “This is one of many crimes committed by Israel against the Lebanese people,“ the mayor said.
