Find One Near You: USE THIS Find One Near You: 👉 Find The Benefits of This Meditation Below: If you do this meditation once per day, you will experience amazing benefits in your life. Here's detailed instructions on how to do the SOMA Breath meditation technique: 1. SOMA Breath meditations and daily doses are based on our core breathwork technique ‘Awakening’ which is composed of three phases for one round of the technique. 1. Rhythmic Breathing to beat with specific breathing patterns. 2. Breath retention (to create deep meditative states and intermittent hypoxia) 3. AUM/Humming 2. Practice on an empty stomach. Best time is in the morning before food. 3. Lie down on your back with your arms by your side or sit comfortably with your back straight. 4. Phase 1: Rhythmic Breathing. When you hear 'IN' inhale fully through both nostrils with a smooth consistent breath. Your breath should be diaphragmatic. 5. Bliss Squeeze: An addition to amplify the good feelings and stimulate feel good hormones is to imagine you are inhaling from the sphincter muscles, or pelvic floor muscles, by pulling them up and contracting with each inhale, then relaxing on the exhale with a Haaaa sound, that can be an audible tone or just with a breath sound. 6. When you hear 'OUT' exhale fully through both nostrils or pursed lips with a smooth consistent breath. Keep your breath as smooth as you can with no jitters or stutters. At first it may seem difficult but when you get used to the music it will be effortless and deeply relaxing. You can also make a sound like an ocean wave to help your breath stay smooth and rhythmic. The rhythm is more important than the depth of your breathing. The rhythmic breathing phase is usually for a duration of 3-7 minutes depending on the intensity level of the session. 7. Phase 2: Breath Retention. After the rhythmic breathing phase you will hear the instruction to hold your breath for as long as you can after full exhalation. You can extend the duration of this breath retention by taking a small sip of air and exhaling fully again if you find you cannot hold your breath for long enough. 8. When you get a big urge to breathe, see if you can override the first urge, going slightly beyond the comfort zone. Do not force or strain the breath retention at any point. When you feel energy and sensations building at the base of your spine and your lower abdomen, breathe in, imagining you are breathing this energy up through your spine and into your head. Hold your breath after full inhalation for as long as it is comfortable. Then let out a long exhalation by making a tone, such as chanting a long AUM or humming. As you hum, imagine you are vibrating the center of your forehead. This completes one round. NOTE: On some variations of the daily doses, instead of going into the breath retention phase after rhythmic breathing you may be instructed to go into humming. • Soma Breath Meditation Masterclass - ...
