The House reconvened today after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) fell short of receiving 217 votes to win the speakers gavel yesterday afternoon. Today, 22 Republicans voted against the Republican nominee while House Democrats continued to be united with all 212 members voting for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries. Jeffries: 212 Jordan: 199 Scalise: 7 McCarthy: 5 Zeldin: 3 Garcia: 1 Emmer: 1 Donalds: 1 Miller: 1 Boehner: 1 Granger: 1 Westerman: 1 217 votes are needed to win the gavel.
