A documentary-style drama showing the events that lead up to the tragic incident in the Northern Ireland town of Derry. On August 1, 1971 started Operation Demetrius introducing arrest and internment without charge or trial of people suspected of being members of the Irish Republican Army. It only inflamed sectarian tensions in Northern Ireland while failing in its stated aim of arresting members of the Provisional I. R. A., because many of the people arrested were completely unconnected with the organisation but had had their names appear on the list of those to be interned under uncivilised conditions through bungling and incompetence. On January 30, 1972 a protest march led by civil rights activist Ivan Cooper was fired upon by British troops, killing 13 protesters and wounding 14 more....
