An investigation is underway after two people were killed and five others were injured in a shooting in downtown Indianapolis Saturday morning. FOX 59 reports that according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Illinois Street and West Washington Street. Investigators say officers were already responding to another disturbance near West Washington Street and North Meridian Street when they learned of a second disturbance. As officers responded, they heard gunfire in the area. When officer arrived on scene, they located multiple people hit by gunfire. Officers and medics rendered aid to the individuals who were injured. Five people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. A sixth person walked into an area hospital and is in stable condition, according to police. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators did not provide the age or the identity of the individual. Of the individuals shot, three are juveniles and three are adults.
