LORD SKIDELSKY: YUGOSLAVIA EXPOSED THE LIE THAT NATO IS A PURELY DEFENSIVE ORGANISATION 'The bombing of Yugoslavia in 1997 wasn't authorised by the United Nations, it was a NATO operation, and it gives the lie to the idea that NATO is a purely defensive organisation.
