In this video, I'm restoring a Butcher's Cleaver. This Meat Cleaver was too Rusty The shape of the cleaver is very swingy and the many dents on the Blade and upper edge indicate that a butcher once worked a lot with the cleaver. A hammer was certainly also used to drive the cleaver through more solid structures with more force. The dents and dings in the upper area suggest this. I found This cleaver from a Cutler's shop. The Cutler was surprised when I told Cutler that I wanted to buy this old cleaver. And he gave it to me for free after knowing the purpose. I started to remove the rust from the cleaver with phosphoric acid the rust can be transferred to a sacrificial anode. Then I brushed off all parts with an electric steel brush, Then I was able to contour the edge of the cleaver and finish it nicely using an angle grinder. I sanded in different grits up to 320 grit. Then I ground the blade by hand. First 320 grit then 400 grit, 600 grit, and then 1000 grit, 1500 grit, and then 2000 g
