Mark Cryer shocked the drag racing community when he first debuted his wild '09 Smart Car in 2014. Powered by a 462ci big block chevy with a full custom built chrome moly frame high 11 second runs came easy despite the unpredictability of the short wheelbase. Over the following years Mark, along with his son Nick who races a dragster, made numerous changes including a new 555ci big block chevy, different gears, multiple tire and wheel combinations, backspacing, shocks etc and eventually put the car into the 9's to claim the title of the World's Fastest Smart Car! Like any other drag racers they continue to try different things all in the quest to go even faster. On this day they took the car out after narrowing the rear end 9“ to try to aid in keeping the car more in the groove. The first two runs were excellent and the car behaved well with smooth consistent 9 second passes although Mark did red light on both runs he'd be the first to tell you he needs to work on that.
