Stop being fearful He was first dubbed “Magic“ as a 15-year-old playing for Everett High School, when he recorded a triple-double. 3. Dream big He won four more championships with the Lakers during the 1980s. 4. Hustle He retired abruptly in 1991 after announcing that he had contracted HIV, but returned to play in the 1992 All-Star Game. 5. Know your customer After protests from his fellow players, he retired again for four years. 6. Learn to listen He returned again, at age 36, to play 32 games for the Lakers before retiring for the third and final time. 7. Make your team better His career achievements include three NBA MVP Awards, and nine NBA Finals appearances. 8. Have tough skin He was honored as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996. 9. Be a perfectionist He has numerous business interests, and was a part-owner of the Lakers for several years. 10.
